Auberge
Lou Peyrol is a small, family-run Logis de France situated at the
entrance to Montferrand-du-Périgord, a beautiful medieval
village. We are in the peaceful and unspoilt Couze valley - a perfect
situation for relaxing and an ideal centre for walking, cycling
and visiting the many places of interest in the area.
The GR36 (a marked path) runs through the village and there are
wonderful walks in all directions. Cycling is also an ideal way
to discover the countryside with its network of quiet roads. The
auberge is in the middle of the "circuit des bastides",
the fortified villages such as Monpazier, Beaumont and Molières,
so famous in this part of the Dordogne. We are about a 30 minutes'
drive away from Bergerac (for the airport) and Sarlat (with its
well known Saturday market). The river is within easy reach for
canoeing and even swimming. |

Our delightful restaurant with its cosy atmosphere serves
the delicious regional specialities prepared by Thierry using
fresh, local produce with some ingredients even coming from the
village itself! There is a sunny terrace for outdoor dining or
just sipping an aperitif.
Our
5 bedrooms are simple but comfortable and in total harmony with
the rustic charm of the auberge. Most have magnificent views of
the village and surrounding countryside.
So
come and discover for yourselves this stunning part of France
whether you be an historian, nature-lover or gourmet - there is
something for everyone!
